It's your Fifth Grader's turn to go to Outdoor Ed! The 2025-2026 fifth graders are scheduled to attend May 18-22, 2026.
This year's requested donation per student is $500. In the face of steep per student cost increase over previous years, the PTA is generously supplementing this trip. Your additional $500 is the remaining cost of sending your own student to Outdoor Ed. The ability for each fifth grade class to take this trip is dependent on our awesome families contributing, as this program is donation funded and is not covered by other Alisal or PUSD funds.
On Future Fund, you can pay once in full or you can pay in three (3) installments. If you want to avoid the transaction fees for this donation, checks will be accepted at Alisal's front office.
More about the trip!!
One of the most exciting and enriching experiences for our 5th grade students is the Exploring New Horizons Outdoor School in Sempervirens. Sempervirens is located in Scotts Valley. Naturalists lead students in hands-on, place-based learning, concentrating on interdependence, cycles, energy flow, natural history, and more, deepening students’ ecological knowledge and interest in science and environmental stewardship. School groups also engage in cooperative team building activities, including family style dining, designed to build trust within and between the hiking groups and participating classes or schools. On all three days, curriculum is correlated to the 5th grade science standards.
The amount per student to attend Outdoor School is $500 per child which includes food, and lodging.
